The Prince's Runaway Lover by Robin Covington

Happy Release Day!!!

The Prince's Runaway Lover
The Men of the Zodiac Series
by Robin Covington

Entangled Publishing, LLC

Crown Prince Nicholas Lytton was never supposed to be ruler of Callanos. He was the “spare to the heir,” pursuing a decadent life of the rich and royal—extreme sports, physical pleasures, and glorious irresponsibility. Until his brother died. Now Nick is to be coronated king, and no one believes he's ready.

The best way to secure his crown is to do the unthinkable…find a queen.

While Isabel Reynolds works in the palace gardens, she has no desire to draw the attention of the way-too-flirty, would-be king. For she's not the woman everyone thinks she is. Even if she wanted—or was tempted by—the promise of love, it would only end in disaster. Because while Isabel may be able to catch a king, her secrets would only destroy him…

Kathie's Review:

This is my first book by this author. It won't be my last. And that cover? Oh, yes.

This is a modern Cinderella story. Isabel is the palace gardener, and she's really good at it. She's also very fast...at running. Nick never thought he'd be the Crown Prince. His brother, King Alec was a wonderful king, and he and his wife would have lots of babies, and Nicholas could just keep climbing mountains, playing his extreme sports...and tasting a different woman (or two) every night. That's the way it was supposed to be. Until it wasn't.

A distant cousin has decided Nicholas isn't really King material and he wants the crown. Nick's close advisers are telling him he needs to settle down, find a queen, and do what they tell him. Especially that last one. Nick is his own man, and as he wades through the morass of his royal duties, he figures he has to be true to himself. A very grown up idea for this playboy prince.

One of the bright spots in his day is when he runs early in the morning and runs beside Isabel. They've never exchanged words. When she beats him up a hill and leaves him in her dust with a devilish little smile...he's intrigued. And he wants to get to know her better.

Their new relationship starts out in the privacy of the gardens...and she tells him they can only be friends. But that's not what either of them really want. The UST is hot and heavy between these two. But Isabel's past could bring his kingdom down around his royal ears. She's on the run from some really bad stuff.

Watching these two find their way to each other, overcoming obstacles, was a wonderful read. It's only about 170 pages, so easy to read in an afternoon, and I highly recommend you get yourself a glass of iced tea (I drink Earl Grey with sugar and cream) and settle in for some fun. I loved that the author thanks Chris Evans (Captain America) as her inspiration for Nicholas. Yeah, that works for me.

Thank you, Entangled and NetGalley, for the opportunity to read this book
