Review Guidelines and Reviewers

Per FTC regulations, I need to alert you to the fact that several of the books reviewed on this blog were received free of charge from the author or the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I will identify the source of each book clearly in the review with a line stating: “Thank you, Netgalley,”  “...Edelweiss,” “ from the author,” “...won in a Giveaway,” etc. Many of the books reviewed have been bought by me. If not specified, consider it paid for by me.
First Page to the Last features books of many genres: contemporary, historical, paranormal, erotica, and many sub-genres. Because so many books in the romance genre have a mild to spicy theme, there might be material within the books reviewed that is not suitable to young readers. I mostly read romance, but will branch out into other genres as the mood strikes, or if the cover and summary really pull me in!

All reviews posted on this blog will link back to the book at Amazon. I will also add Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads links for the author where I have that information.

All reviews posted are the opinion of the posting reviewer. Me (and my guest reviewers) bring our own likes, dislikes, and prejudices to the books we read for review. We know that not every book was written for every reader. This is our honest opinion of what we read. Please note that First Page to the Last will not be posting a review of less than THREE BOOKMARKS. I am not here to be mean and tear down a book or an author. There are other blogs for that. I am here to tell you about books that I love and enjoyed and that I am recommending them to you in the hopes that you will love them, too.

If you are an author, publisher, author marketer, or agent and want First Page to the Last to review your book, please click the Review Request tab and send me an email. This form includes requests for information about possible interviews, giveaways, author appearances or blog tours. If you have a date in mind, I will try and post reviews close to or on the release date of your book, or to coincide with your blog tour. Filling out a request is not a guarantee that your book will be reviewed by First Page to the Last.

Not every book is a good fit for every blog. I reserve the right to decline to review any book for any reason.

All of the reviews published at First Page to the Last will also be located at Amazon, Goodreads, Facebook and tweeted at least once via my twitter account.

All purchase links are provided as a courtesy to my blog followers only. I receive a small compensation for purchases made through these links, which helps to offset hosting costs for the website. This may not be the best price and you can always shop around for a better one.

If it’s here on First Page to the Last, know that it’s at least a THREE BOOKMARK
and I liked it enough to tell others about it.

Four means that I would reread this one at least once.

I loved it and would read this one at least several more times.
My friends will get tired of hearing about it...

First Page to the Last will review books, host blog tours, hold contests, and showcase authors who want to share about their upcoming books.

The READERS for First Page to the Last:

I love to read and have been looking for a way to help support authors. Word of mouth can help get your book read and copies sold.

My goal is to review both new and old books; both popular and those that may be under-reviewed; both established authors and the debut author who could use some attention.

My name is Lori and I started blogging in January 2013.  My goal is to spread the word about books and authors that have affected me in some way. When I love a book I just want everyone to read it and love it with me.

Fandom lover, reader, and reviewer. All around fan, part time stalker of my favorites. I love the mythical world and all the stories that put a smile on my face.

I love the authors and the creativity they inspire.

But most of all, I love how the stories make me feel, make me think, make me believe.

Sandi Layne
There are many profiles that detail the author’s lifelong dream of authorship being realized with the publication of their first novel or short story. This is not one of those profiles.
To make an exceedingly odd story moreso, Sandi Layne had no wish to be a writer, but went through a storyline bootcamp in the form of strange dreams for a month and took careful notes. Fifteen years later, she’s still writing stories that veer slightly off the beaten path, both in Christian and historical fiction.

Married for more than twenty years to a very tolerant (and brilliant!) man, she has two sons, no pets,
and a plethora of imaginary friends. Her interests range from ancient civilizations to science fiction for both reading and research. With degrees in English and Ministry, she also claims Theology’s crimson Masters collar which she has been known to don on rare occasions.

If you drive by her window before dawn, it is likely she’ll have a light on for you. Or at the very least, she’ll be alert on twitter. She invites you to visit her online space at Bring coffee. Twitter -- Facebook

Lissa Bryan is an astronaut, renowned Kabuki actress, Olympic pole vault gold medalist, Iron Chef champion, and scientist who recently discovered the cure for athlete's foot... though only in her head. Real life isn't so interesting, which is why she spends most of her time writing.

Her first novel, Ghostwriter was released October 11, 2012, and her second, The End of All Things, was released on January 24, 2013. Her third, titled Under These Restless Skies, is scheduled for spring of 2014.

Lissa is also a fanfiction author, whose stories can be found here:

Sydney Logan is an Amazon bestselling author and holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. With the 2012 release of her first novel, Lessons Learned, she made the transition from bookworm to author. Her second book, Mountain Charm, was released in July 2013. Sydney has a very unhealthy obsession with music, and her iPod is filled with everything from Johnny Cash to Eminem. She is also the author of three short stories: “Mistletoe Magic,” available exclusively on Amazon Kindle, "Stupid Cupid" (which is featured in the Romantic Interludes compilation), and "Force of Nature." When she isn't reading or writing, she enjoys playing piano and relaxing on her front porch at her home in East Tennessee with her wonderful husband and their very spoiled cat.

Jess Molly Brown (a.k.a. jmolly)

Don’t be fooled by the seeming tranquility, Jess is scheming. She’ll soon be querying her first manuscript (a contemporary romance with the working title Moms on Missions), is currently working on two others in the same series, and there’s another work in progress: a sci fi romance.

She edits for four professional authors, betas some hobby writers and tutors a bunch of newbies. She got her start four years ago, in fan fiction, and is proud of it.

Four great kids, one husband *coughbiggestkidofallcough* and two dogs ensure that the house is always messy. The garden’s overflowing with blooms, but weedy. The grass always needs cutting, provided it’s not buried beneath snow. She lives in Canada, eh? The dogs are walked, the kids get fed, the hubbs hasn’t killed anybody yet, the books Jess reads she reviews, and somehow, the people in her head manage to make it into stories. Occasionally, she embarrasses her kids by doing Zumba in front of their friends. It’s just how she rolls.

Amber L. Johnson is a wife and mother, a reader and a writer, a lover and a fighter... sorry I got carried away.  After writing for many years in the Twilight Fandom, Amber has recently taken steps to publish her own original work.  Her first novella, Where We Fell, is coming out soon.  She is someone I love and respect and whose opinion I trust completely.

Carrie Elks lives near London, England and loves to write sexy stories with a dash of intrigue. At the age of twenty-one she left college with a political science degree, a healthy overdraft and a soon-to-be husband. She loves to travel and meet new people, and has lived in the USA and Switzerland as well as the UK.

Nowadays, she spends her days sorting out people’s problems at work and her evenings glued to a computer keyboard. An avid social networker, she tries to limit her Facebook and twitter time to stolen moments between writing chapters.

Her favorite authors include L.H. Cosway, Samantha Young, Cara McKenna and C.J. Roberts.

When she isn't reading or writing, she can usually be found baking, drinking wine or working out how to combine the two. Please LIKE her page at Facebook.
